Tagaytay trip... No Java today ! With my fiancee of course !

Tin and me Posted by Picasa

He picked up his backpack and left.....

Somebody in the neighborhood approached me one time and asked about things related to music and stuff. Really a bit bad coz I think, he can't get it .. Hehe.. Well here it goes.....

Mr. Somebody --> You played the guitar before man, and played along with good groups. Why did u stop ? Dont end the possibility on making it big bro !!

Miko --> Ending up big ?? If I stayed with music, I can't even buy a Pentium 2 Laptop for heavens sake !!

Mr. Somebody --> I don't think so bro, focus is the key. You will make it someday and be a star !! and that is great man. Dont you think ?

Miko --> Be a star ? Whooaaahh ! Well even if your with the top class band of the land, will you be in a higher platform ? Like a manager or a top exec maybe ? I think not... There are no promotions in that field... and making it your profession can get you nowhere.. I experienced that before. The free gigs, The "love for music crap", it does not make sense man... I was really fed up of it.. But its good though for the younger peeps.. but if ur around 25 higher, think about it... Even your folks will kick you out of your room tellin' you to get a life ! :)

Mr. Somebody --> No its not... You can actually be one and have another profession, thats my plan when I graduate..

Miko --> Choose one only... It cannot coincide to live together...

Mr. Somebody --> I will still be having my field of work .. But I will still be a drummer though ! and thats final !

Miko --> Choose one only... It cannot coincide to live together...

Mr. Somebody --> When I graduate man, can you get me or refer me on top companies you know ?

Miko --> Well to be honest, I think not.... I dont want to be blamed by them if your inefficient and lousy at work because of your gigs. Flared by them because your always on played "sick leave" coz there is this major group rehearsal... Held responsible by them for referring you just to make "Chord patterns","Classy Riffs" and "Cool Lyrics" instead of being a good addition to the firm...

Well, he picked up his backpack and left....

Thank God he does not have one !!! What a lucky man !!

A jobless man applied for the position of "office boy"at Microsoft. The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test. "You are employed" he said. " Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start. The man replied "But I don't have a computer, neither an email" "Oh I'm sorry", said the HR manager. If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn't exist, cannot have the job." The man left with no hope at all. He didn't know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate. He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours, he succeeded to double his capital.

He repeated the operation three times, and returned home with $60. The man realized that he can survive by this way,and started to go everyday earlier, and return late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled every day. Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles. 5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US. He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance. He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan.

When the conversation was concluded, the broker asked him his email. The man replied, "I don't have an email." The broker answered curiously, "You don't have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an email?!!" The man thought for a while and replied, "Yes, I'd be an office boy at Microsoft!"

Bwahahahaha !!!!!

On the roll with CruiseControl :D

Honestly, I never really cared about continous integration processes before. I accidentally just bumped into it one time and then, "valued" its importance. It was really a regret on my part not using it years back.

Talk about times when you know that you have successful builds in the CVS. Everythin's cool yeah ! Just had a few changes on the code, a little update on somethin', a few tests; Whew ! Talk about swingin' man !! This is what you call smooth..

Oh yes it is; When...

Somebody just updated a source file, made a fast change and havin it commited on the respository in a snap. Overlooks an error and guess what ? the whole build will break !!

Then..

Here comes Cruisecontrol !! Hehehe !! I'll cut it short' got no time explainin how important it is !! coz it is !!

Hmmmm.. Why do hundreds of them use VB ??

Okay, I won't flame in Windows, even though it richly deserves the criticism it routinely receives by many computer professionals.

However, calling Visual Basic a "development language" is, in essence, like referring to a sledge hammer as a precision assembly tool. VB is a crude mess whose sole purpose is to allow non-programmers to write "programs" that will run under Windows. I personally don't know anyone who writes software for a living who would admit to using VB. Come to think of it, I've yet to find a good reason to write anything that runs on Windows. If I'm forced to employ pictures to communicate with the user then he's probably too damned dumb to properly use a computer.

What an "Alternative@#%@"

Would like to add some of my thoughts along the lines (which i read on some views..). Including the whole music scene not just alternative, cause today's categories seem to be goin' , since all forms seem to crisscross each other...

* MOST of todays PinoyRock bands SUCK.

* Everyone seems to think getting a certificate from YAMAHA or wherever makes you a musician, madami pa kayong dapat kainin. Years and years of blood, sweat and tears.

* I really wish we excluded Subic Naval Base from our (so far, direction-less) Nationalistic trip. OLONGAPO was the perfect training ground for the pinoy musician. It was said if you did not do an honest stint in GAPO, you had no right to be in PINOYROCK. Sampaguita did hers, taking up residence in the motel right behind the club. Wally Gonzalez did too, Freddie Aguilar, etc. Man, a lot of you listeners probably were too young yet but man, a trip to GAPO in those days was a rockers dream...ULO NG APO performing accross the street from the FRICTIONS. MARIA CAFRA in 2 blocks away, and so on. STUNNING. MIND BLOWING MUSIC in one road, MAGSAYSAY BLVD (or was it Avenue?) It was hazy especially when the MOJO juice kicked in.

* Award bodies should really think about their criteria, etc. ERASERHEADS were, if I remember correctly, were given the LEGEND award by one award body 2 or 3 years back. ERASERHEADS, legends??? HUHHHHH? Wow man, PEPE, WALLY, HEBER, AUNT IRMA, PETRIFIED, MARIA CAFRA, those are legends man !!

* If someone claims to be a Lead Guitarist, but can't play the Blues, then he ain't so.

"The blues is not a style or phase of jazz, but a permanent substratum of all styles; not the whole of jazz, but it's heart." - ERIC HOBSBAWN

"Many of the young guys coming up didn't know or had forgotten their foundation - the blues." "That's the basis of jazz." - CHARLIE PARKER
