What an "Alternative@#%@"
Would like to add some of my thoughts along the lines (which i read on some views..). Including the whole music scene not just alternative, cause today's categories seem to be goin' , since all forms seem to crisscross each other...
* MOST of todays PinoyRock bands SUCK.
* Everyone seems to think getting a certificate from YAMAHA or wherever makes you a musician, madami pa kayong dapat kainin. Years and years of blood, sweat and tears.
* I really wish we excluded Subic Naval Base from our (so far, direction-less) Nationalistic trip. OLONGAPO was the perfect training ground for the pinoy musician. It was said if you did not do an honest stint in GAPO, you had no right to be in PINOYROCK. Sampaguita did hers, taking up residence in the motel right behind the club. Wally Gonzalez did too, Freddie Aguilar, etc. Man, a lot of you listeners probably were too young yet but man, a trip to GAPO in those days was a rockers dream...ULO NG APO performing accross the street from the FRICTIONS. MARIA CAFRA in 2 blocks away, and so on. STUNNING. MIND BLOWING MUSIC in one road, MAGSAYSAY BLVD (or was it Avenue?) It was hazy especially when the MOJO juice kicked in.
* Award bodies should really think about their criteria, etc. ERASERHEADS were, if I remember correctly, were given the LEGEND award by one award body 2 or 3 years back. ERASERHEADS, legends??? HUHHHHH? Wow man, PEPE, WALLY, HEBER, AUNT IRMA, PETRIFIED, MARIA CAFRA, those are legends man !!
* If someone claims to be a Lead Guitarist, but can't play the Blues, then he ain't so.

nabasa ko ko yung sulat pre,,, let me introduce myself first pre......... just call me IVAN ,,, from angeles city, now reside here in sothern part of the phillippines,, mindanao.... i'm already 45 years old kaya abot at sakay ko lahat ng comments mo,,, iyong mga iba siguro hindi maka abot at sabihin pang yabang mo naman... pero un nga kasi di sila tulad natin,,,yung ibang audience ngayon di nila alam kung yung ina idolize nila ay tunay or fake,,, kasi mga gitarista ngayon thru internet hanap sila ng mga tabs... instant ,,,, gitarista na (daw),,, preo tayo panoorin man natin sila bokya sila kung tunay o fake,,, kasi ang missing link nila ay.........FEEL,,,,Groove,,,, inner soul........ tama ka... bat naging legend ang eraser heads? ni mag cover ng kanta di mo alam na yun na pala ang kino cover dahil....layooooo.... tayo noon plaka pa ang pinaka cd natin,,,at wala tabtabs,, thanks god at di ako ngayon pinanganak,,, kaya thru ear to ear talaga ang pag create ng music,,,, pero hayaan mo na lang sila tol, kung di nakalimutan nila ang mga new moons concert bands,,,
